I just got the new Kindle 2g (early xmas present!) and am completely sold on it now. I was pretty happy with it when I got it, but today was the first time I used it while traveling. Having the Kindle on a 3 hour flight, 2 hour layover, 2 hour flight was wonderful. I'll be visiting family for a week, and I didn't even bring a charger for it. When I turn off wifi it'll last about 20-25 days before the battery runs out.
It also fits perfectly into the outside pocket of the MEI voyageour, in the little
"pocket" that gets created between the two compression straps.

I have a Kindle 2.0 and it is the best thing for traveling. It does make a difference that you can buy books internationally and the battery life is awesome. Even though I already have an e-reader it's nice to know that the Kindle came out on top in your search. Thanks for the breakdown!
