I know that a lot of people are very excited to have iphones. iPhone users are very dedicated, fanatical people who will defend their phones to the death. Each and every person who I talk to has the same complaints though:

1. The iPhone power is not sufficient for travel use.

2. The touch screen keyboard takes some getting used to, as well as becomes a pain when you have long nails.

These two above issues became blockers for me in purchasing an iPhone. Instead, I chose to become a Blackberry user.

Why is the blackberry better?

The blackberry is different in that it does not poll the server looking for new mail. Rather, the RIM technology “pushes” out the email to your phone. This means that your phone uses a lot less power, and thus your battery will last a lot longer.

The keyboard is a physical thing that you can type faster on, type with nails, and type when not looking at the keyboard all of the time. These are huge wins for me!

Now, those of you who need your itunes, by all means, keep your ipod/phone… but the blackberry can play pandora as well as preloaded mp3s too! With a SD micro Memory card slot, I can store GIGS of songs. This is a huge plus.

Overall, I must say I have never had a better phone in my life. This phone blows away the competition on every front.

The latest tool against terrorism in airport security are the “whole body scan” devices that can pretty much do as advertised. The result is a very clear depiction of what you look like under your clothes. The results are so detailed that in fact, one can reverse the image to get a very very revealing image of your body sans underwear!! Here is an example: of a woman with a hidden knife. If you follow through the links, you can see the reversed image of her (NSFW!) here.

The scans are of course controversial, but what makes me worried is who is manning the scanner that day!! Just imagining this creeps me out to no end.

Of course, the upside is that all women’s tatas will be standing at attention due to the invisible bras keeping them in place. I guess not all is lost!

From the latest terrorist attack on a plane, there have been even more restrictions.

New security rules for int’l flights into US:
1 bag
no electronics the ENTIRE flight
no getting up last hour of flight

And I have heard other things such as – no blankets on your laps for the last hour of the flight.

More to come, but for now, this just shows how much more valuable one bag packing has become.

Okay, I had no idea that Phoenix was going to be this cold. I knew cool, but not as cold as home!

Good news is, I was able to improvise.

This trip was for 2 days.

All the clothes I brought with me was:

1 skirt suit

1 black shirt

sleeping pajama shorts

a tank top

1 pair of stretch jeans

1 workout outfit

1 pair of sneakers

1 pair of heels

1 pair of flipflops (okay I was being optimistic here)

1 scarf

socks

leg warmers (for my suit when leaving philadelphia) – HUGE life saver!

As a warm outfit back on the plane, I have decided to improvise. I”m wearing the same black shirt from yesterday, with my purple scarf, and my grey suit jacket with jeans, socks and sneakers! When I get home – I have a big winter coat, gloves, etc in my car. So all is good!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Not exactly toasty but at least I”m not going to freeze!
